Weeks after graduating from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law in May 2019, I sat for the Law Society of Ontario’s Barrister and Solicitor exams. Following six tense weeks of waiting for the results, I was informed that I’d failed both exams. I had never felt so defeated. The thought of reattempting these difficult exams was overwhelming, especially during my articling term. I re-wrote the Barrister exam in November 2019 and the Solicitor exam (online) in June 2020. I passed both exams and was subsequently called to the Ontario bar.
I first received my bar materials on April 22, 2019 and found out I’d passed the Solicitor exam on August 11, 2020. I spent over fifteen months (or 477 days, to be exact!) consumed by all things related to the bar exam.
I created Ontario Bar Exam Coach to give licensing candidates the support I wish I’d had during my bar exam attempts. Let’s work together to dramatically shorten your learning curve and build you a strategic plan to tackle these exams from the very first moment you sit down with the materials.
I have dealt with the emotional toll these exams can have on your body and mind. If push came to shove, I could likely recite the Professional Responsibility materials to you from memory (just kidding). Most importantly, I have made it to the other side of these exams and want to help you make it through your licensing journey.
I will listen to your concerns, learn your study habits and incorporate my knowledge to coach you through this final step in your licensing process.
Studying for the bar doesn’t need to be a painful process, which is why I’ve created free resources, 1:1 coaching, and Bar Exam Bootcamp, to help make your bar exam journey easier - and dare I say - more enjoyable!

"I joined bar exam bootcamp in May 2022. I had failed the barrister exam then. My friend who has passed the NCA exams recommended Piper to me. As soon as I saw Piper's blog of having taken the exams, and failing them; I knew I had someone who would understand my situation."
-James H.
"Piper’s exceptional ability to instill confidence and clarity cannot be overstated. Her prompt responses to my numerous queries, coupled with her unwavering encouragement, were pivotal in keeping me focused and motivated. Her expertise not only illuminated how to prepare for complex exam concepts but also provided a much-needed morale boost during moments of doubt."
-Paul C.
"Piper seems very approachable and caring. That is what made her stand out among other bar exam prep. She has personally gone through the struggles and looked like she will really care for the students.
She was everything she represented herself to be and was so caring and supportive."

Piper is actually my middle name and I’ve been called Piper since the day I was born!
I became close friends with Erin when we were paired together to be the co-coordinators of Windsor Law's Pro Bono Students Canada program. As our friendship grew, we regularly questioned traditional approaches to legal practice and legal careers. So, in February 2021 we launched Off the Tracks, a podcast to explore all of the ways people with legal backgrounds approach their careers. After 72 episodes, the podcast has taken a pause, but we are so proud of the conversations we shared with our guests. Below are some episodes and series I think you might like!
